Tesoro Silver Umax, Garrett Pro Pointer
« on: January 20, 2013, 03:17:15 pm »
Go Up Go Down

It was getting dark but I had to try out my new pro pointer and digger.  My daughter and I headed to the park by our house.  Her with a Bounty Hunter Jr. and I with my Tesoro Silver Umax.  We started hunting by the baseball diamond, and she was getting signal after signal, as I had her discrimination set pretty low as the beeps keep her interested.  I popped and dug a few coins for myself, but was having trouble keeping up with her digs!  She was working me digging all her targets! LOL

She gets a good signal and I am ready for more trash.  I walk over and hit it with the Tesoro.  Say, that is a good signal.  Strong and solid one direction, and a slight double beep another.  I noticed my tests did that with some rings...hmmm.  I discriminate it out at pull tab, very interesting!  I used the pro pointer to better pin point it but it won't get it.  I used my wedding band to super tune it and get a good signal and mark the spot.  I struck my screw driver down and tried to pop it, but no luck.  I reached into the slot and grabbed the target and see...gold!  I think I was more excited than her, especially when I looked inside and see 14k!  Well once she found out she had a gold ring, there was no keeping up with her!  Every target had to be dug...lol.

Needless to say I was very proud of her, and impressed with her "toy".  The ring was 3 inches deep and made a good tone on both machines.  It finally got to dark to search any more, and the head lamps make us look suspicious at the park, at least in my mind.  So a great day at the park, now I just need to find something to top her finds! Cheesy

She's a keeper, that one. It's so good to have an eager hunting partner.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
