I think edjcox only meant that you need to be aware that the coin could be a counterfiet.  Even though you found it yourself with a metal detector that you built yourself and the coin is NOT for sale, it is still possible for the coin to be a counterfiet.  I don't believe that any offense was meant and that no accusation was made.  If it is a counterfiet, you would not be the first metal detectorist to unknowingly find one.  And if it is genuine, then all the better.

Wow...

US Dime in photo led to me to beleive it was a domestic find. Since you are so sensitive I apologise but no accusation was intended. The information was for the others on the forum as they didn't know the nature of the coin. If indeed original and silver or electrum it has a good bit of value.

Had it been found in the US it may have been a counterfit, hence the article.

I will be sure not to comment on your posts in the future.

 Embarrassed

Hey Bomber...Can you post a few pic's of the fake coins you have found ? I would really like to see them... In fact I may have been the one that made them...hehehehehe... I used to do casting work and I made replicas of almost every rare coin know to man....
