[detecting]I went swinging today for about 2 and 1/4 hours at two baseball parks side by side. There
is a third one there but didnt have time to hit it. Anyway as you can see I had just an average day.
A little cash and a lot of trash. But guess what. I loved every minute of it. Thats what counts.
Enjoy it while you can.
 Detecting Kiss  Keep swinging. ARR!

Arrrr...Gary, I'm curious about tha aluminum object in the lower left corner of your photo. It appears to be some sort of a clamp. Have any idea? What got my attention is all the writing. Aviation component manufactures used to decorate their parts like that.  Waveing Idea

I liked the 'a little cash, a lot of trash' part of your post - good mantra  Smiley

That looks like you found some discarded evidence.
I would find out what that piece was from.
Bet someone stole something and chopped it up, recycling the rest.
Are the ends sawed?
Identifying evidence from a theft...betcha. Wink

Hey hector. Just after I started swinging a park employee came over and told me that the area
used to be a junk dump of sorts. He said there might be some batteries in their and i should watch for them.
The peace is alum. and has no sawed edges on it. Looking at the end view it looks like a dbl uu.Top side
is wider and u shape a little bigger than bottom side.Thats all Ican tell you. ARR!

Gary, i looked it up. It is a crimp electrical connector for 1/0 aluminum wire. made by Kearny Company. It was probably used to splice wires on light poles (my guess).  It is always interesting looking at the junk you find expecially the brass. Sometimes you can figure out what the ground was used for before it became a park. Ashville N.C. has a park along the Leon River. I had Lots of false coin hits from from nuts and washers. It was a auto junk yard before becoming a park. Typical.

Arrr, Gary, a nice relaxing day at the diamonds, with a little loot tossed in for good measure.
Can't beat those kinds of days.   HH  Robroy59

That explains the OLD intake manifold gasket I found at one of my more favorite trashy but still with old coin spots which is a park also Grin

I should post some of the other trash I found there...anybody ever heard of Luster Creme? :Smiley

Hector, Luster Creme is an old brand of cosmetics that was popular back in the 50s and before. It is a brand name that is still in use. If you found a tube you can usually tell if it is pre WWII or post WWII by lighting a match to it. Pre WWII tubes were tin or lead, Post WWII were aluminum or plastic. The tin or lead melts in little balls the aluminum burns more than melting. During the war when solder was a scarce commodity people saved old tin toothpaste tubes and used them for solder. gambol
