Go Up Go Down

Went behind the local park today, just into an empty paddock. Started swinging and it wasnt so empty after all. The old garrett a2b should have a bloody volume switch it darn near blows my ear drums apart.
And heres a picture $1.10 in spendable and my first key puls a collection of hot rocks and the usual junk. The key although just a wardrobe key isnt like the pressed ones you get it's solid steel.

Looks like you did some diggin for sure. Weather your wearing headphones or not you can put a plastic sandwich bag over your MD speaker and controls or headphones. This will help lower the volume.

Greetings Gozzo, I recognize most of that stuff, except the key, I usually find car and house keys.
Regarding your headset volume, depending upon the earpiece, you can either stuff some cotton balls
inside for dampening the noise (and it makes it easier on your ears for long MD periods), or you can
wear a headband to cover your ears and quiet down the excessive volume.  Another option is to take
a small piece of tape and place it over the exit holes in your headphone, I found that electrical tape
works better than others.   HH Robroy59

Go Up Go Down

I'll give both a try, thanks for the ideas guy's, with regards to the key its the one used on most bedroom wardrobes, they are very common here in Australia. however most of them are made from pressed cheap metal then rolled, and the thumb piece is separately pressed onto the shaft, how ever this one is solid steel. I found it about 6 inches down. which has got me wondering if there was an old farmhouse in the park before it was a park. the town I live in used to be a military base during WW2. which is why I decided the paddock may have been worth a look. found quite a bit of iron that I just chucked in the bin. a i have a policy of, if i bring it to the surface I figure that then transfers it's safe disposal to me. Plus then I don't have to worry about finding it again. But I imagine most of us, follow along those lines.
