Dan I will find out tomorrow...20/07/212, as I am off to the York coin fair, were I hope to sell it, I will let you know what I get for it. 10 years ago they would have been worth quite a chunk of cash, but there have been a lot found now, with modern detectors being that good at sniffing them out.

Ok silver searcher, hope you get some good cash for it. Maybe you would do better if you tryed to sell it on E-bay. Some collector here in the states may pay a good dollar for a coin like that....Good Luck....DW

Good luck on the sale tomorrow, Silver Searcher. And if they don't offer much, danwebster had a good idea about EBAY

Well I got £225 for the coin which I was happy with, it's struck slightly of centre and the reverse was a bit pitted, so all in all I'm quite happy with the price. As for eBay you have to take in to account the costs No no! I never tend to sell my upper end coins on there, I only sell my lower value items, which do Ok.

The coin fair was quite interesting, quite a lot of Silver Cobs for sale, nearly bought a group of 4 but I don't know enough about them, but the price seemed to be okay, £500 for 4 quite large Silver Cobs all different shapes with plenty detail and certificates.
