Go Up Go Down

Started  Detecting on "new" soil after coming up with some "new" ideas about where to find the silver.
Looks like we're on to something here Shocked
This might be the first time I've dug more copper than zinc pennies  Clapp 12 clad, 13 copper.
After  Detecting 100' or so, pulled up 2 wheaties and the 44 Merc. YESSSS Grin
Under 3hrs of detecting and I feel satisfied.
Have a feeling I'll be posting many more silver coin finds in the near future Great
Being semi unemployed has its' benefits Smiley

Way to go! and yep, I use the penny's I find as a gage to see if there's silver at a site. Finding wheaties is a good indicator, but I look for old memorials from the 60's and early 70's to tell me a "story" about the site and hwo long ago people were losing stuff there.

Thanks guys!
A quote from a recent, previous post of mine...

"Looks like I'm starting to find some good areas for silver potential.
Aluminum ring and my first marble find while  Detecting
USSR 1965 pin
Have some new theories on why I haven't been finding silver coins and where to start looking.
We shall see if my little  Idea is correct.
This ground was so hard to dig that I scratched most of the wheaties getting them out Angry and my hands are way sore now.
Kind of a good thing they weren't something like a 24 Merc dime, or I'd be like Cry" (meant 21 Merc)

A little odd that I've now found 3 Mercs and no Rosies...you would think it would be the other way around Crazy
I'm so on edge for that first silver quarter Huh?

Congratulations on the nice Merc!
Positive thinking goes a long way (as well as new batteries)!
And you thought you would be an Wise man before you found more silver.
Keep up the good work and more will be found, for sure.

Finding silver never gets old. I love the way it shines when it pops out of the ground! Steve

You mind sharing some of those "new" ideas with a "newbie"?  Trying to figure out how to locate some good hunting sites!

Research! Look for old maps that show were the old schoolhouses and churches used to be.
That's where I had my best luck! Steve
