Early Sunday morning in Kirkland Washington, Hector arrives ready to detect.
Gary, were you detecting in my neck of the woods? I found an eyepatch (no blood).
We encounter another detectorist swinging a Whites + Bigfoot coil and listen to
his stories of swinging every day and finding much treasure, which gets my blood
rushing and my coil swinging. Before long, beeps are heard and plugs are dug,
and treasure begins to build up on our pouches. I notice a movement in the corner
of my eye, Hector has found a pretty and had to bring it over for a review. Now I'm
really pumped, but force myself to slow down and swing quietly, listening for the golden
tones. No gold, but I did find a pretty of my own, only silver plated, but still pretty.
I had to stop early because my batteries gave out, more on that front on another post.
After leaving the lakefront park, we headed over to an inland park recommended by a friend.
Two steps out of the car, and two quarters found, a good beginning. We found many buried
aluminum cans, but also many quarters. I found a 1996 Kennedy Half dollar that rang up
like a quarter, a nice surprise.
A first for me, a knife, in decent condition and after a little WD-40, works like a knife should.
The lock and galvanized tie-down were also firsts for me. I don't know how Bluenoser works
for his quota without wearing himself out, but I know it was a good day.
The grand total for the day, 78 coins, 1 half dollar, 26 Quarters, 19 dimes, 7 nickels, 21 pennies.
Thanks for looking, and Thank you Hector for a great hunt.
