The tot lots were depleted, but the surrounding areas did yield a number of coins. I sneaked into the entrance to the ball park where I had found a few quarters and dimes after having hunted a field that was full of trash as if it had been a landfill.
My total was 24 quarters and 20 dimes. I did find a few pennies but most penny targets were dimes.
The clad is in the tumbler along with the last hunt's finds. I figure there's at least $20 in there a tumbling.

It's amazing what you find in some tot-lots...many live ammo rounds, from .22 ca. all the way up to AK47 rounds(7.62x39). Makes you wonder....

You also have to be extra careful with those needles the junkies leave behind.
A few of the schools are probably going to be closed to detecting due to one of the students taking in a condom that he found on the playground. It's getting to the point where lack of respect and vandalism has caused most of the school playgrounds to be fenced in like a jail.

When summer hits us around here, the hunting will be limited to a few hrs due to the heat.
I figure our summer is like the winter up north. It makes us stay indoors a bit more. You can always layer up when it's cold, but you can't take off enough to keep you cool.

I'd better take advantage of the cool weather before the heat starts to make detecting somehow uncomfortable.
I usually find the most in the spring. In the summer I have to think twice about being out there in the hot sun and high temps.
