Go Up Go Down

I recently dug this George III silver sixpence out of a Welsh hillside. It came out of the ground looking pretty good.
The person who lost it must have fealt rather sick about their loss. Mind you; not as sick as George III when he lost
America!   Cry

A .. As it came out of the ground.
B .. Following a good wash and a little cleaning.
C .. After some spit and tinfoil treatment and a buff.

The silver sixpence was in superb condition, but a George III halfpenny, that I found on a local beach, wasn't in as good a condition.   Sad

How about gold? I haven't found any yet! Will a gold coin look as sweet as silver when it comes out of the earth after
several hundred years?

From the land of the Bluenose.....nice silver and george was without a doubt a bull headed looking guy.  Ran across a few of them on my last yearly UK trip.  Continued good hunting!

           Thanks for the kind comment guys; I was well please when I found the George III silver sixpence but I was even more pleased when I recently found two hammered silver coins on a Welsh hill farm. One was an Elizabeth I silver sixpence and the other was an Henry VIII half groat minted posthumously at the York mint. I will post photographs later this evening.{alt}
