Had a good hunt this past Saturday using the Fisher CZ-3D at a relatives farm and my first experience with some tough mineralized soil in Alabama near Tuscaloosa. I have had no luck in figuring out what the rusty iron latch might be for and does anyone know what the big piece of lead in the upper right corner might have been for, it is round and very smooth on top and perfectly flat on the bottom, it may have been sliced from a larger piece but don't know for sure.
FYI - Total count for the hunt is as follows:
Milk Glass Lightning Jar Lid
Unknown Latch or farm implement
Lead Fishing Sinker
2 Square Nails
1 bullet head (unknown)
Large 14 oz slice of lead
1 Token
Jewelry: silver necklace bead, 2 earrings
Clad: 2 nickels, 7 quarters, 9 dimes, 38 pennies
5 metallic punchouts
