Found this few days ago, was  bout 1/8 inch corrosion on it, cleaned it up and found what it was, so used it for a knob  on a walkin stick, cut me a limb off a lil maple tree, kinda recyclin, turned out well, and may come in handy Wise

It's hollow, but no seams or anything, just cannot imagine how it was made, i suppose mebbe it was formed by hammering, is about 1/16" wall thickness, and God awful old Wise

The latter url includes this tidbit in the last paragraph ". The process of metal forming hollow sphere balls will use a special process called hydroforming or metal lathe spinning. It will spin a hollow tube at high velocity and use heavy machinery to apply high pressure changing the shape of the tube into an asymmetric shape, sphere or hemisphere."
