Go Up Go Down

Yesterday was a lovely crisp day - great after all the snow and cold weather....
Only second trip so far this year but glad to be back out swinging the coil again.

A few nice coins cropped up, including two Roman bronzes, and a nice silver denarius.
Also a small chipped silver hammered and a George III silver sixpence dated 1816.

Other items include a small blade fragment with a distinctive cross section, a pipe tamper? stirrup? and a squashed lead cup of some sort.
Also a buckle fragment, spoon handle, lead weights, and what looks like a thin fragment of a brooch with a nice design.

Any help in identification gratefully received...

That's quite an interesting collection you have there.   The coins are really neat.  I think the stirrup is actually a spur worn on the riding boot rather than a stirrup in which the boot would be placed, but I could be wrong.   The other items are all mysteries to me.  Hopefully someone else will be able to identify them.  At the very least, it will be fun trying.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks BA,

I agree with you regarding it maybe being spur.
You can tell I know nothing about horses! Don't know one bit of the kit from another...

Cheers

That's what you get for living in a civilized country instead of the American Wild West  Smiley
