Well first the detection depth is poor second the discrimination (Audio) is not working like it should. I get the right audio for ferrous but I get non ferrous and ferrous audio for non ferrous I could not get the J107 so I replaced it with the 2n4391 and looking at the data sheet I think that this is where my problem is.
