Interesting, especially the part covering Treasure Laws in Scotland versus the rest of the UK.   But, unfortunately the gist of the article seems to be a push for a unified Federal law on treasure for the United States that would apply to ALL finds whether found on US government owned land, state land, or private land regardless of the state.   One more push to make all subject to the all-powerful and all-wise central authority.

Just my thing but I think the 1906 Antiquities Act Sucks!

If I pick up a coin I lost while I was 5 years old I'm Breaking the Law.

On the Other Hand the UK laws Suck because they lay Claim to All Lands and have this Nasty Thing like the Crown Going on.

Here in the US we have our own Crown Thing Going on called the Federal Government.   We the Surfs have lost Power.

Nope, Homefire, it's more like "The Government That Would Be King".    We are sovereign and the government exists to serve us, but the statists/elitists sure are trying their darndest to reverse that.
