while serving in Afghanistan i bought a bunch of old American silver dollars from the 1800's from a local bizarre.  i researched them and found that the due to economy issues in that time period, the US mint had primarily stuck with the silver dollar for use in trades in Southwest Asia.  i also learned that they were usually counterfitted in the region, primarily by the Chinese.  even knowing that they were counterfeit i still bought them for their worth in their historical value.  the pictures are only a few of the ones i have, i literally have an abundance from over there.  i think that they're true value is their period in time of being used as counterfeit currency.

The trade dollar was a nice looking coin.
