Hi Johnn........My quess would be maybe something on the order of girl scouts. The 14 might signify a troop or den number. Nice find......John in Virginia

I tend to agree with outback and bugar with '14 being the class number (or if it is a scholastic society, the year awarded)

Yes I do agree that it maybe a girls ring, and a school ring, didn't think of that she was a long way off the pavement when she lost it NO couldn't be "Goldilocks"
Na "no bears in that area"....... Funny....HH...Johnnn

You mean she was a long way off of the pavement if she lost it recently...no telling where the trails and paths went 80+ years ago.   I know that many parks get completely re-landscaped resulting in old paths being lost to any but the most deligent (or lucky) detective.

One thing to keep in mind---even if we are right about it being a school ring, there's no guarantee that the school was in the area.

I think we need another candidate----E.P. Scarlett High School didn't open until 1970 and is named after a man who was born in 1896---which would make '14 improbable as a date   ref---

If there was a site that had collected the icons of these establishments it would be easier to solve, i,e school emblems.............This place I speak of is not a park just a tangle of shubs/tree's plants that want to shred you to pieces brambles etc.
so the mystery remains..........And this place hasn't got any better...Ouch!!
