Any opinions from users on how well the Whites GMT in prospecting mode is on fine placer gold and nuggets? Size, depth, etc.

Fine Gold like flakes and Floor is out!

Nuggets you have a chance of.

The only detector that I know of that can see floor and flakes is the Falcon.

It runs at like 300KHz.

I have a poker chip with a tiny nugget on it and my GMT sounds off with a good zip zip on it. To give you a size reference on the nugget on my chip it would fit in the check box that says don't use smileys. If it sounds on gold smaller you would have to pan it out to find it. Mike

Cora, the GMT will see gold down to a 1/10 of a grain, it is the easiest of the gold machines to use, it has auto ground balance

and manual ground balance, it tells you about ground mineralization, and the Iron probibilty also it can give you an audio grunt

to tell you that it is an Iron target, and you can read the black sand meter to follow it to where the find gold collects,

Most of all the fine gold will be that small that you will have to pan it just to separate it, and on larger gold it will go down

a couple of feet according to reports that i have read, the Gold bug II will find finer gold and is a good machine, but if you

want a meter then the GMT is the best choice.
