I wonder sometimes if there's not some guy running around with old paint making markings on rocks everywhere in the Philippines just to get these guys excited. It might be just one giant practical joke.

Reminds me of a joke I heard once upon a time.

This poor farmer writes to his son and asks him if he can get out of the Army long enough to come home and help him with clearing the family farmland to get it ready for planting. The son replies in a letter saying that such a thing in impossible but to be patient and the Good Lord will provide.

Two weeks later about 200 policemen, FBI agents and BATF agents with shovels arrive and go wild digging in the field. Soon, the entire field is ready for planting and they all leave with lights flashing.

Stunned by this, the father writes to his son telling him the whole amazing story. The son replies, "I thought that might happen. I wrote to the Sheriff and told him that Junior Huckstable told me he buried the money and a chest full of guns from that bank robbery he did last year in our field. The rest was easy. When Junior hears about it, it'll make his day. He always did like you, Pa."

You don't know what it means but you're going to assume it's treasure? Oh, dear.
