Try to explore west of your culverts. Try to find an old century tree situated east of the old well if there is. This tree serves as a marker that will point to this old well and check if there is an embedded nail on this tree pointing towards the culverts. Another marker is an old house situated south of this old well. First verify these two surface markers if it is still existing.

Maybe they are just numbered to make a perfect fit or which culvert must follow after the other for a perfect fit.

I heard a lot of stories of this kind an upside down pyramid (triangle) and underneath is trap if you disturb the upside down pyramid it will release a toxic gas. So novice TH then will get challenge how to excavate it likewise he will believe that only The Japanese will make this kind of concealment, very tempting right? Although this are made up stories how will you then excavate it if it is inside a well? submit your technique and expertise.

is it a well or a ventilation shaft? Seems like a lot of effort to concrete a 10' deep well.
