Aw, mate, leave them alone when they're digging. At least they're not asking for any money.

A good entomologist friend of mine told me that earthworms are good for the soil mostly because they aerate it with their tunneling. True, they also leave worm castings behind as fertilizer but their main function is to dig wormholes. Just look at the Yamashita guys as big, two legged "worms" doing their job for nature by digging 30 foot aeration tunnels. Now, if only they would leave castings down there . . .

As a whole, all of us are "worms" by digging small shallow holes and removing that dirty, nasty gold and silver. Just not as deeply as the Yam guys.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
