Strikes me as having a south sea flavor to it, or maybe African influence. Could have been made by a slave that was captured in west Africa, taken to the new world and worked on a plantation in that region way back when. Or a Tiki god perhaps? Or is it a representation of a space man that visited the people of Rongo Rongo so long ago no one remembers?
