My husband bought me the xterra 705. Now to use it! I know, just get out there and do it. Should I get an environmental cover to protect the control box (or will a plastic bag do?)

If I'm going to be far from the vehicle, I just carry a plastic bag incase a sudden rainstorm shows up.

hlpowl, I won't opperate my machines without the covers on, It's a very cheap insurance or investment that will keep your
machine like the day you got it, 1 careless moment and your trip is ruined, when ever I travelled the QLD bush I always
took a pair and a spare,
Not only that when you go to trade your machine in you will get a better price for your machine if it is looked after

I keep a couple of shower caps from the cheap store ($2.00 Shop) in my kit just for rain.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Never leave the 705 control box without a cover, the front screen is too prone to scratches.

You can depress the screen of the X.T 705 quite easily.

Thankyou all, for your excellent advice. I will follow-up and buy a cover. I really am looking forward to using it. Shall try a few trial runs on my local beaches (Northern Sydney). Plan to head west in May.
