Can anybody clarify the rules/regulation of prospecting on crown land in Australia? Does this differ from state to state?

Being from New Mexico USA I don't know much about down Yonder.

I do Know you Need a Fossickers Licence?

What that is about I have no clue, Just pay for a ticket and go have fun?

We have folks on here that are more Savey on that stuff.

It does differ greatly from state to state. Check with your local detector shop. They always have the details. Where are you located?
