Hello All

How safe is a tree stump?

Not as safe as one would expect...

Is is a story of a cache secured in an old tree stump only to be washed away in a flood. There was a Chinese market gardener from Plantation creek who hoarded his money for thirteen years and allegedly his his money cache in a tin and placed it in an old tree stump. A big flood happened in 1940 and washed the stump away.

The whole town searched for it. there was not report of the stump being found.

Perhaps some one found it at the time and kept quiet?

Or perhaps the most optimistic in me is that it could of been washed out to see and washed back up on the beach somewhere and buried by the sands of time?

Waiting for some one to stumble across it.

In any case the money after 70 years in a tin would have rotted by now but it would be an interested find for the relic cabinet.

Hardluck
