Go Up Go Down

After 16 days not going to the beach due to work and weather being bad too i went today, it was good weather yesterday but looks like it has not built up the coinage at the moment.
This month has been quiet , only had £103 this month , so will have to do better next month  Grin
I got to the beach at about 4.30am and there were two others there too and by the end there were 6 of us, did not talk to them , to busy .
Today i found £26.30p and a pair of Ray Ban Ladies sunglasses in a case, mum can have those.

I wont be back on the beach till mid next week now, also trying to get back to a farm next week where i found a silver hammered Elizabeth 1 Groat (4 Pence) ,that broke into 3 pieces , still better than nothing.
I had 4 musket balls , and 10 other milled coins, mostly old half pennies and a 1940's bronze 3 pence. Also had a copper ring, that may be a few hundred years old ? but no detail, at the moment its in olive oil to try and bring it up a bit. Also had a loom weight.
Here are my finds from that day (saturday 25th)

And some lead.

Hello Rich,

It's good to see you back & hunting the beach again, and I'm thankful to see your recent finds, as usual a very good post with great photos and review of the days finds.  Looks like some other guys have been reading your threads or saw you detecting that beach & figured they too would come home with a treasure chest of Three & 6 pence, and Shillings of gold!

Thanks for doing the post, always enjoy reading & seeing your fabulous finds mate,

Cheers-  Great
Jim

Most of the others doing the beach are regulars that turn up from time to time, there can be as many as 11 that i know of.
Wonder how much i would find each day i went if there was no one else doing that beach?
My target for next month if the weather holds up is £400 and hopefully a gold ring or 2 , i will use the TDI next week on another beach that has sand next week. But if the weather is hot then i will skip it and go for the cash on Brighton beach while its available , i can get the rings the following week when i should have my new Razorback coil.

Jim are you near a beach ?  I think you should by a pulse machine, your sandy beaches must have some golden surprises for you ! Detecting

Maybe you should consider a good night hunt there, that way you gather all the loot or as much of it as you can carry!

Good luck at the sand beach, I hope you score some gold...

Myself, no I'm in upstate new York right now, but I regularly hit the mid Atlantic states beaches when I can, as well as Florida beaches. Yea your right, I need a decent Pulse induction beach and water machine, so I'll be looking for one shortly.

Thanks & good luck mate,  Wink
Jimmy

Rich,

I can tell you, that I would much prefer hunting there in England compared to here in the states. The coinage & age of the coinage there is just so astoundingly early and the vales of the coin denominations are worth that much more for current coinage or vintage. Not to mention the beauty of the inscriptions & artistry involved in there design.

Garrett Sea Hunters are good, there somewhat heavy units, but they can be waist mounted if one desires to do so. You also have the Whites pulse machines that supposedly excel on the beach and in the surf. Minelabs 1000 machine as you know perform well at beaches and in the surf with multiple frequencies, and there are others that work well I read.

In any event, I wish you Gods speed in your hunts and hope that you one day hit the Mother Load!
(lol, I'd like to also find my pot at the other end of the rainbow)

Cheers,  Great
Jim

Indeed, they are heavy because they are made for deep water diving where neutral buoyancy is very important. Yes, they can be used on the beach but they are better in the water.
