Alan, nothing gets the blood pumping like this kind of picture! Wow! What a wonderfully "golden" pile of rings that is.

I think I'm blind now.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Go Up Go Down

I remember a time when there was a one of those big bad storms we get once in a while. I was full of expectation and enthusiasm as to what I was going to find in the water.  Unfortuneately, the adverse thing had happened and instead of taking a load of sand out to deeper water loads of fresh new sand had been dumped on my search area.

I know what its like for guys to go out get in the water and come back with only a few coins I know how demoralising it can be when you can go days even weeks on end day after day without even a glint of the yellow stuff too.
This is why I put these pictures up just to get you enthused excited as to what you can find. I learn a big lesson the hard way and that was, When the going gets tough the tough get going.  All I'm trying to do is get you guys motivated so that you too can go out there using the right equipment and come back with a few goodies in your pockets.
Just because im retired now and dont get in the water, doesnt mean I have to stop anyone from having a go at trying their luck.
Remember swimming became popular at the turn of the century in the 1900s. By the laws of physics heat expands cold contracts someone is going to loose something once they enter the water.
Over the years those losses have accumalated and grown because more people get into the water these days.
Every Summer there are new losses which continually adds to whats already there and as long as people wear jewellry on the beach these losses are impossible to stop.  Unless of course people stop wearing jewellry.
Its only when someone sees pictures such as this that gets them motivated and gets that adreneline rush that people are enticed to go out and try their luck. They know the goodies are there it depends on the individual to go and find them.
There are four types of people in this world Dreamers, Thinkers, talkers and Doers.
The big question is if people are really serious about finding gold are they prepared to go out there and do it?
Sure there are more guys doing the same things as I did years ago and the finds may not be as plentiful in some areas but there are still places that have never seen a detector.  Do your research find those areas, Ask yourself one question where is a disused swimming area?  Now go and find it get lucky only you can do this for yourself.  What are you waiting for?

Great picture of rings. You have become an expert in this endeavor of finding valuable objects. You are truly a doer.  Chewy.
