Thanks! We may head out that way this weekend, but we aren't for sure yet.If we do,we will surely let you know how it goes.I am just ready for another weekend like St Augustine as Cedar Key was a disappointment as it was one bottle cap after another.

Keep your chin up Maria...Smiley...your not going to find great stuff all the time when first starting out...Sad...but as you both get more experience you will be able to pick out areas that are more likely to contain neat finds...Smiley...Good Luck to you both

I went to Gulf Shores a number of times during the summer a few years ago- I did make some interesting finds but there was an awful lot of other people walking around with MDs also so  don't expect to be the only one detecting.

Toolboxdriver-Thank you!I know that we aren't going to be able to find something every time we go out.

Goldfinger-Thanks!I am sure there will be a lot of people out there especially since it is a long strip. We are still trying to decide if to go there or not.The thing is it would be only for one night. We are wondering if we should go somewhere closer!

It might not be so crowded now that the kids are back in school. I wouldn't travel too far if you're not planning on staying long.

That is what we are thinking.I just talked to a friend in Melbourne, and her husband said Sebastian Inlet may be a place to metal detect.I wish we had more time as MS sounds so tempting.
