Would a underwater gold detector help folks find gold on the floor of the bering sea?

i saw that show a while  back and they were vacuuming the bottom  blind, pretty much  i thought none of em are detecting  first or while doing so . is their somthing up there on that sea bottom  that interferes with a detector ? or is there so much gold everywere that it wont help ? i dont know  cause i am in the lower 48 so i thought i would ask ya'll  and see what your thoughts were  i havent detected under water  and am not familiar with the capabilities of underwater detectors  josey

An underwater Pulse Induction unit will sort the gold from the black sand.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

I researched (not thoroughly) some into getting a permit to do that and the permits are already taken around Nome and the other public area. They are good for years as long as the people keep paying for them. I hope this is accurate. Trying to get my family's adventuresome spirit going to go up and give it a whirl. I don't really have the financing, but, I can dream. The people doing the vacuuming look pretty inept and unprepared. I am in poor physical shape and am quite sure I can do way better.
