Go Up Go Down

I got out to the state park swimming hole yesterday with my detector and though I didn't find anything great I had a good time and did find some interesting newer stuff.  I found 2 charms a heart and a star, some clad coins, some newer pennies, a few chunks of aluminum they look to be off a cast item like a pump housing, and the old pop tops off old alum cans.  It was a nice relaxing dive and any time I'm in the water is a good day...Smiley

Hello Jim!

I wish I could have joind you on that dive. I have my gear all ready and batteries charged but no spare time left. Too bad!

I will have to hurry up before it gets to cold in Germany for making a comfortable dive.

Best wishes,

Christian

I just got a set of 121 steel doubles and took them out this morninng for a test drive...Smiley...In this area with the shallow water I can get about 5 hours of dive time off 1 fill...Cheesy...I'll be doing some video work with a friend filming Hellbender Salamanders tomorrow afternoon, that should be a good time.  They are the second largest salamander in the world and can grow to 30 inches long.  We captured one yesterday and tagged it,  it measured 470 cm and was 478 grams.  I am helping a college professor with a study of the hellbenders, here is a pic of one below

Jim, this salamander is huge. We also happen to have some salamnder in our grden but they are all well under 3'' I'd say.

I also have a set of double 10l tanks but for hunting in the shallow water I now mainly use a fully closed O2 rebreather. I've had some of the German LAR combat rebreathers but now mainly use an Italian Technisub rebreather from the late '70s. I've also had a Russian IDA-71 rebreather for sometime but I somewaht disliked the idea that its instruments where radioactive ...

You definatly want to stay away from the radioactive guages...LOL...do you have a surplus of the german combat rebreathers???   I'd love to give one of them a try...hint, hint, hint...maybe my credits could add up to one of them one day...Smiley
Maybe one day we can dive together that would be awesome, I have a passport just lack the funds at the moment to get to Germany...but you never know what lies around the next corner

I decided to search a site the other day , It used to be an old creek crossing from 1820's with a bridge over it but its gone now so I took my detector down there and found some old pennies about 10inches under the gravel . hoping to find a gold coin or too  lol
