A buddy of mine  bought a TF-900 not too long ago. The unit, was  made by Treasure Baron's owner. My buddy purchased it for for around $500 and that two-box unit is very strong...it can pick up a bucket of metal at over 6 0r 7 feet. I think it will pick up a chest at about 8 feet or more...depending on the size of chest. IT IS REALLY DEEP GOING DETECTOR...uses 6AA batteries and is surprisingly light machine or the handle configuration makes it feel that way anyhow.
I think one of the PI units with large coil would go deep as this or more, but that TF-900 does a fine job of getting down deep and it is easy to use.

Yeahh thanx....i was triyng to buy from USA a used TF 900/TM808 ...but man let me tell you some people are scared so send stuff over seas.I have found a TM 808 at 250$/with lots scraches and dents it was for sale when the seller contacted he wants to sell it.WE got ready till i sayed i am from Europe...Guess what 3 people got same reaction "OH i guess im not decided to sell it yet!" WTF!...Man some people think like 8 year olds.Do you want sell it or not???!!. Besides i have to pay 55% more taxes for importing something out of a NON European Union country based on the shippers declared value on the package.
Now i guess i try to build one of those PI"s out of scratch...will see how it goes. And also i will buy a TF 900 new/used meaby just to have two units to play around. And hell ill see wherre i buy it from....Smiley

Hi Steaua581

There must be a lot of detectors for sale in Europe and you should be able to get one with not to much trouble. As for building your own there is the DBP2010 which you could build I do not really recommend it for the beginner but if you have had experience with electronics before then it will pose no problem and it works well. Or you could have a look at the download page there are VLF, PI, and BFO but before building one you must first check that it will be suitable for the terrain that you wish to work on.
Hope this will help you

Regards Xavier
