Well, since no one replied to your question, I'll send you my two cents worth.  I recommend the ACE 250.  With just the regular
ACE 250 it shouldn't cost you more than $250, if you check around you can buy it for around $212.  I wouldn't buy a package deal, if it
comes with a cheap digger, headset and the other cheap junk that comes with some of the packages.  Try to find a Stainless Steel digger, probably cost you around $9 or $10.  Also try to find a headset that you can adjust each ears sound.  A digging pouch is nice to, but if you have a lumber apron, it will work just fine also.  Put your good finds in one side and the junk you find in the other side.

Hope this helps some.  My first year I had my ACE 250, I found over 4,000 clad coins and nearly 300 silver coins with it. I also dug up a
6 pound cannon ball.  Not to bad for a cheap detector.  I still use my ACE from time and it still keep producing.

Chall13, I'll second ringfinder's suggestion. I'm a newbie and I bought a ACE 150 to get started. it works well enough but lacks the pinpointing function of the 250 which you need if you don't have a pointer and don't want to spend all day pawing through the soil looking for the coin you have just dug.

I bought a SunRay probe for my ACE 250. It attaches right to the rod of the ACE.  I know a $150 for a probe, but I never leave home without it.  It sure makes life a lot
easier when you use a probe.  The Garrett Pro pinpointer is a good one too!! But then again, your looking at over a $100.  But you know what you get what you pay for.

Go to Kellyco they have the ACE250 for 212.00 and for another 20.00 you can add on a pin pointer, it also comes with a bunch of acessories and free shipping. I think an ACE250 is a great machine and will do all that you are looking for. Clapp
