Hello everyone,

I stumbled upon this site while doing some preliminary research on metal detecting as a hobby. I was searching for a new time killer that I might find enjoyable and I believe detecting may be able to provide me with that. I love adventures, investigating and being outdoors and I hope that I can someday instill this passion in my children. I currently live in central Delaware. Delaware's demographic and rich history yields a strong foundation for me to build my hobby. I am in the process of researching detectors and am just about ready to make my first purchase. For those interested, I have all but decided on a Garrett 250. From what I have read, it is a good, reputable device for beginners and easy on the wallet. Any tips or suggestions are welcome and appreciated. From the looks of it, it appears that this site has a plethora of information for everyone involved in this hobby. Kudo's to all the contributing members for making this a great site.

H.T. , you'll find lots of tips and tricks for the Ace 250 already posted in the forum. Start by looking in the Garrett sub-board and in the beginners board (and don't neglect the general tips that apply to all detectors)
