Go Up Go Down

I am new to this site and subject and am in the Kansas City area.  There has been much about the Jesse James story here recently and of course I find myself to be in the middle of it.  I am inquiring about metal detectors, and detecting.  I am wondering what advice you might give regarding the detectors.

My use would be from the battlefields of the civil war, to the shores of Florida, and yes possibly even to find some of that infamous JJ treasure we hear so much of.  So the question is quite simple-what should one look for when looking to purchase one of these?

There is obviously a high end, and a low end of the spectrum and I would like to stay in the upper half of that when selecting one to purchase.  Can/will someone give advice on what models and price range I should be looking at-new and used?  Is this a tool that you would suggest is ok to purchase used or would you strictly purchase one new out of the box?

thanks again

Howdy Circa.

Welcome to the forum.   Used is good, provided it has been well taken care of.  I'd suggest using the search function above and search for "Best Detector" for the entire forum.   What constitutes "best" is going to depend in large part upon what/where you'll mostly be hunting.   You may even find that you're better off with two machines than with just one.

Regards,

BA
