Go Up Go Down

I am curious about the advice of digging every target.  I detect in parks and schools where there are a lot of tabs and foil, I feel like if I dug every signal that I would be doing nothing but cleaning up every public area in my town.  I have great success digging pennies, dimes, and quarters, but often wonder if I am leaving behind more valuable items.  It seems that ten times out of ten, if I dig foil, pulltab or screw caps that is exactly what I get.  The treasure to trash ratio is in my favor if I am strictly coinshooting, but how does one go about increasing the odds of finding more valuable objects?  I have been at this for just over a year, (probably 2 dozen outings.)  I could definitely use some advice.  Example:  get a signal,  wave coil back over signal several more times..........signal bounces from quarter to iron and everything in between.  I have stopped digging these as they usually turn out to be pop can that has been mowed and driven into the ground, or if at the beach...pop can that someone buried a foot under.  HELP!!!!

To find the really good stuff, one would do better to go all metal, no target ID, and dig all signals. But only if you want to find gold rings, jewelry and such. No pain, no gain  Lips Sealed

I was afraid that would be the answer, and believe it or not that is encouraging, because I thought that I was doing something wrong.  I get lots of hits where I hunt, so now I know more treasure is coming my way.  Thanks.

Until you know that you recognize your machines signals....dig everything.   Once you've figured out how your machine responds to various targets, you can be more discriminating in what you dig.

Thank You very much for that advice, all of us that are new, are going to go through allot of listening to the machines tones, and allot of digging! I have only had my bounty hunter for a week, and have found allot of junk, lol. Much practise is needed.

I have tried to dig up all but one kind of get a little less inersted in finding anything. So I tried just coins did slot better but I was told that I left the best behind. Because of the trash in the park sommmetime gets pretty bad lots of can tops and cans bottle tops to so 5 just go coins only and latyer I will come back trough everything. The funny thing I forgot to mention, is that gofer had brought up my 1942 dime but had it covered up I just ran my coil over and wala. I guess the gopher want me to quit digging up there yard and gave a dime to leave. Before I forget I am using a Matrix M6 I rerally love the machine I just want to get better at this hobby.
