I recently purchased the ATPro and it seem simple using during my trial runs in the backyard.  I've been digging but afraid I may be finding pipes. I got a Garrett Pro pin pointer.  I hope this helps but haven't tried it yet.  Does anyone have or know any tips to help me in using this equipment.

Appreciate your help.

Treasure Seeker!

Hope to soon be reporting treasures found ...

Ah, you do bring back memories, my friend. Greetings from Oz, first of all. Must be polite.

You may be finding pipes but the only way to know for sure is to dig! Go on. Dig and see what's down there. Front and back yards always surprise people. When you see what can be lost there, it gives you confidence. My own front yard turned up two silver rings and a huge number of coins. The previous owners must have rolled around on the ground with coins falling out of their pockets like confetti at a wedding.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Now that brings pictures to mind  Grin

Be careful digging, just in case it is pipes.   by the way, if it is metal pipes (as opposed to the metal in sprinkler heads connected to pvc pipes), you should have a relatively narrow target area one direction and a very long target area when you sweep 90 degrees to your original sweep.  (doing these cross sweeps will also help you pinpoint the target before you start digging).    Of course, it does have a narrow target area one direction and a long target area running at 90 degrees, you still won't know if it is a length of pipe or possibly a sword, rifle, shotgun, axle, pipe wrench, etc until you dig.
