Go Up Go Down

I would like to ask and I'm sorry if its to personal for you to reply. I just want to get one that is going to work and honestly its my cousin who is going to buy a detector.

Little info he has looked into them, I forget off hand which one he said he wanted to get but I know the price range was about 500 dollars. I would like to bring some ideas to him before he does buy one.

So what I was wanting to know is which brand and model and about how much you spent on it and does it work as good or better then you thought it would?

As soon as he calls me this morning I will edit or reply the brand he said he wanted to get.

I was going to try and make one, I got some electronic skills I did rework on windmill controllers and circuit boards for about 5 years.

So I was wondering if anyone out there has made there own and does it work that good? if it does do you mine sharing the wiring schematic.

We only live about 30 min drive from old gold country and would like to start taking day trips and do a little detecting.

Govax, research the major brands Garrett, Whites, Fisher, Tesoro. Use the advance search at the top right of page to search detectors for beginners and/ or the brands.
Not knowing what kind of hunting you are looking to do, its hard to make a suggestion.

Well I want to find GOLD!!! just kidding

Really just want to go have fun and if we find anything that is a bonus. Like I said my cousin wants to buy a detector and his interest rang from gold to something that is worthless to most people. We just want to go have fun and maybe find something old.

We are gona go to some really old places up in Jamestown, we got some friends that live up there that own few hundred acres next to some old mines and creeks.

he will probable use it at the ocean too along the beaches.

I don't know anything about them. I will probable have just as much fun making one as using it, I would like to make one that works well for all things.

OK check out the Garrett 250 or the Tesoro Cibola both good starter detectors. Whites and Fisher make good starter detector also but as I have not used ether in some time will let someone else suggest which ones. Bounty Hunter has several good detectors and can be found at local sporting goods store.

I would have to second this..

I would add, Whites' M6, and Fisher F2

All of the machines listed can be had from 150.00 to 350.00
