I recently met some one who told me his step father passed away and had three metal detectors. This mans wife is thinking about selling them. one is a Fisher 1265 X. I don't know anything about it. I'm wondering if any members own or have owned one. My question is when were they made, what price range were they new, are they a good detector, and does anybody have a picture of one?

I do not have a picture of one handy but I did own one as my first detector way back in the 80's.  Excellent detector for the time period and it was not cheap, as I recall.  It would be an excellent first detector for you for sure.  Round About

Thanks for the reply Randy, but it won't be my first detector. I just wnated to know what it might be worth on todays market in case I choose to make her an offer on it. Maybe use it a while an maybe use it as a backup detector. although it has been in the closet for 3 years, and I don't know if the batteries were left in it or what kind of shape it's in now. Wink
