Greetings from Perth in Western Australia.

There have been a lot of changes in laws around the world regarding metal detecting. As important as finding a good place to go is being sure you don't inadvertently break any laws when you pursue your hobby.

The good thing is you can usually find the city and county parks rules and regulations on the internet if you're a half-decent google user.   And for the most part, unless your on a national seashore, most beaches in the US will be ok.   But it still pays to check first just in case you found one of the exceptions.
