Also, since it is a recent post, you do not need to promote your own posts. Any replies to your post will bring it back to the top. If it's a worthwhile post, it will attract comments. If not, no amount of self promotion will help. Are you the author of this book or something? Are you friends with the author? While this kind of promoting of a friend's item or your own is allowed here, what is not allowed is hiding the fact that you have a motive other than informing people about something.

The rest of this issue is how important is ground balancing to most people. To be honest, it's not something most concern themselves with.

GD......Sorry, it's just that I haven't used the "link back" before and it didn't come to mind. My only motive was to help the newbies who might be having trouble learning how to Ground Balance their detectors......nothing more.

Based on your reply, I think you have a lot of hostility inside. You tried to beat me down with six different accusatory insinuations which I have numbered below.

#1.."you do not need to promote your own posts."
#2.."If not, no amount of self promotion will help."
#3.."Are you the author of this book or something?"
#4.."Are you friends with the author?"
#5.."While this kind of promoting of a friend's item or your own is allowed here"
#6.."what is not allowed is hiding the fact that you have a motive other than informing people about something.

You need to cool down before you give yourself a heart attack !

If you hadn't thrown the first six punches, so to speak, I wouldn't have had to defend my reputation.

I'll start, "I forgive you GD."

I have not read that particular book, but it would seem to me that if a beginner had problems with ground balancing a
detector, the first line of help would be to read and understand the user manual which came with the machine.
