We hesitate to suggest any detectors.

There like Cars.

How Do you drive?

What do you want to hunt?

What is your Funding Limits?

What do you Expect from a machine?

Well I got lucky with my first as you can not really get a good answer unless you talk to someone in your area, who knows your rules, and what you will be hunting.

I had no idea I could find coins, gold, relics, and every now and then a pull tab. I was looking for meteorites.

I have a ***** Dealer a mile or so away, and he will be getting my business this year. You have a ******* dealer here, just click the banner above.

Two things are standard, "buy what you can afford, and dig everything".

As for detectors, its like a pair of shoes. So many decisions. I have a basic and inexpensive machine.

Look for a detecting or treasure club close by and join. Compare detectors before you buy. Have an idea what you may want to do.

If no one has sai hello or welcome yet, hello and welcome.

My previous post was not edited or moderated. I was asking you to fill in the blanks, as your the one who will use the machine. The *****=Whites. The *******=minelab.

Good Luck.

Earl, Welcome to Thunting , What Casca has told you is correct,

Find a local dealer in your country and area and find out what works best for the kind of treasure you are seeking, a local MD club is also a good sugestion, as some of those members may already be seeking the same treasures, you are wanting to go after and will have done lots of research, on what machines work best in your soil conditions in your area.

Good Luck and Happy Hunting !!

I think you dont need expensive one at first. You should look after cheap simple machines like GMT, Fisher Gold bug 2.
and read a lot about everything about gold.

Best hunting

Earl do not consider THE GMT as it is a gold only machine. IT WILL punish you hard and you will dig every piece of metal in the ground
IT is a specialist machine as is the gold bug II that is if the gold bug II is the 71khz machine, the GMT is easier to use as in it's set up
but the are both for prospecting, not metal detecting

Remember just because they are gold machines don't think they find only gold because a gold only machine has not been invented
they will find everything you do not want to find and they do not work well in high mineralized ground
I own a GMT and I have owned most of the top of the line machines, tell us what you want it for and where you want to hunt
and i will give you an ansewer that will point you in the right direction

Hi auminesweeper.
I am very new to metal detecting. So if i write something wrong please correct me .
By the way which groups should i belong ?  My main concern is to find gold using metal detector. So it is metal detecting or prospecting ?

Golden falcon If you are looking for fine gold as small as half the sizs of a grain of rice then the GMT will work well , I have seen on one of your other post that you are looking at the gold bug II, the gold bug II is a bit harder to master , So i would surgest the GMT
But if the gold in your area is bigger than grains of sand then i would surgest that you try maybe the MXT PRO , or the MXT 300,
these machines can handle the higher mineralization better and as the gold gets bigger these two MXTs will work better and in some
cases deeper than the gold machines, also there is more than 16 differant coils available for the MXTs, also the added bonus is if you want to use them for normal detecting, then you have the perfect machine to use anywhere.
Remember this the MXT is the same inside as the GMT, basically the MXT is a GMT only with a lower frequency and better discrimination, Good luck

GoldenFalcon, You have asked me a question but i see you have a GMT Listed on the left under your name, do you own a detector
or is that the one you want to buy???

Thanks for reply. auminesweeper
GMT is one i planning to buy. You are right about Fisher GOldbug 2. It is seems like harder to master.
I am still confusing which one better for me. MXT or GMT ? of cource it is depends on ground condition and gold type.
I already did my first trip and found some small flakes ( 3 is small like sand grain 2 is grain of rice ). I will put pictures as soon as possible at my thread.

Best Hunting
