Thanks Xavier,

I've looked extensively at Gary's web site.  I've also found quite a bit of good info on the GeoTech site.  What I've summurized is designing a coil system that will settle fast enough to enable a 10 uS to 15 uS delay time before receive is important for finding gold, especially smaller gold. 

Are other users of Gary's P-1 or P-2 using them for gold hunting?

Hi Dan

Well I don't really know but I have heard may good things about Gary's P1 and P2 you can mail him and tell him what you want to do but the last time that I was on his site I read something on gold detecting and that the P2 may be better for it. Also that you can change one of the caps for a higher frequency which is what you will want and a small coil if you are going to be looking for small targets. I will see what I can find if anything and I'll post it for you.
