I was looking for a decent quality metal detector that has multiple metal uses like gold, silver, etc. If anyone has a good suggestion on what ones are good to get? Maybe refer me to a good site to also purchase them? Thanks!

Wow, that's a really broad question.  My first suggestion is for you to locate a local metal detecting club and attend a meeting.  This should get you the opportunity to try a number of different detectors before you buy.  If there isn't a club in your area, then at least avoid buying a cheap detector at a discount store.  You will be disappointed.  The list of good detector brands is long but start researching Garrett, White's, Tesoro or Minelab (please people, don't start raining brimstone down on me  because I left out your favorite brand) detectors because you can't go far wrong in choosing any one of them.  Once you find one you think you might like go to their website and check for local dealers.  Those folks will be glad to let you try out their detectors.  Or you can check out any of the dealers whose banners are on this forum.

Welcome to the hobby (obsession).
