Go Up Go Down

We recently acquired an older Teknetics 8500 but it did not have any instructions or an owner?s manual with it. I have been looking on the internet but haven?t had any luck finding one. Does anyone know anything about this brand or where I might find an owners manual? I am new to metal detecting so not sure where to start with it aside from just burying a few things and experimenting to see what I can learn through trial and error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

~Thanks

If that doesn't work, my second choice would be to contact First Texas Products (the owners of Teknetics, Bounty Hunter, and Fisher)

They probably have some information on the older Teknetic detectors on hand.   There are also a couple of dealers/repair shops on line that specialize in older detectors (at least one of them is in east Texas, but I don't remember their name) that might also be able to help---but that would probably be the most expensive option.

To an eBay search for that model. Every now and again, one comes up for sale with a manual. A simple request to photocopy it may solve your problem. More so if you offer to pay for a copy and pay postage. Asking nicely can get you an awful lot sometimes.

Here's a person who has an RTF file (Word for Windows readable Rich Text File) for that model. All he asks is that you request it by e-mail. Good luck.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

I have a manual. I can scan it and email to you.
