Since I just got a re-start on metal detecting I got the Cen-Tech. Picked it up for $12 at our local HF store. It works fine for me.

has anyone determined what the basis of operation is for the Harbor Freight Pinpointer?
BTW, it isn't always in stock so worth giving a call before going. Also, I purchased a couple at $9.99 so it does go on sale now and then.
