try the gravel parking Lot's and areas under the bleachers and anywhere it looks like the kids may gather on the grassy areas etc. and chk both sides of the sidewalks. and if there is a concession stand co located with the football field etc , chk around it also.

And Always do this during Non School hours only and good luck and happy hunting !!

Try to figure out how people take shortcuts across the grounds. Also check under bushes as they might not have been there many years ago...

Usually local school grounds are at least good for some clad. But even there, no one finds something of interest on every outing.
I would say Karl and Mudflap has covered pretty much most of the sweet spots that one could check first at a school yard.
Not trying to make it sound even harder to make a good hit ,but you just NEVER know where that big hit can be.You can get suggestion from these veterans on where to check out first, but only you can see the lay of the land.As said before, look where all the people gather on the property, parking lots are a great place to make finds, look for earthen paths or short cuts, look for old big trees off by themselves, people like to hang out under big trees and so on.Just kinda study the area before searching and follow where the people were.....
Hope this helps and I wish you luck with that.... Great

the grass edges of the parkin lots especially if its flush with pavement  along with what the others have covered  have payed off for me also areas leading up to doors and  benches   i havent found much at the schools playgrounds  i have searched i think the grounds guys search em lol!but those   are fairly new / updated in my area with the weed mat down 6 inches or so under bark/wood chips so i know it cant sink below that  but i am certain stuff is lost out there !   happy hunting  josey
