i was out  diggin yesterday and found a couple of pieces of silver  both were redish looking is that common ?  i see some folks on videos diggin and it looks like it was just lost or dropped  just curios  thanks for your time   happy hunting !

i am not good at that at all is there a way to post from my phone camera?  it took forever the last time i tried and even after resizing i could only get two pictures on here .

Any thing you can would be better then nothing.

Silver would turn Blue or Black with sulfides.

Red would be more indicative to Nickel close to Copper.

I have dug some red silver coins in west Texas. It has to do with the minerals in the ground can't remember now what it is. Try a google search

I'm just guessing, but I expect the red coating is silver chromate.....probably from an area with relatively high potassium, nitrate, and chromium levels.

they were in a really wet area  i notices some water in the bottom of my hole probably from snow melt
