Go Up Go Down

I have made my choice.  Clapp TESORO!

After weeks of research I have decided on a Tesoro Metal Detector. I REALLY like that it's so easy to find the specifications for these machines. I like that is doesn't Hz my head to figure out what I am getting into.
My spending limit is 400$. With taxes the Cibola is about 10$ over so my choices are limited to the Silver uMax and the Compadre.

After I made my choice I read the threads about the Tesoro MDs, some of you didn't follow-up on your replies.  Club IE: I am waiting for it in the mail...My wife is going to try it...What happened? What did you think of the MD?

I am a female Idiot I can still change my mind, although it may be difficult since I have to find it to change it  Shocked

Cheers,
Barb

Hmmm, the more choices I have the more difficult it is to decide.
[After just chatting with the dealer] The dealer said he would sell me the Cibola for 400$ [taxes included].

Do you still think Silver is the right call homefire?

I should have put a poll on this thread  Huh? Then I would have to have it in the polling section!

Cheers,
Barb

IF you can get the Cibola for $400.00, grab it!.   If not definitely go with the Silver.   Either one will give you years of use, growth, and satisfaction.

I am leaning to the far right.... Pray right next to the Cibola that is.

Cheers,
Barb

BTW: Previous post "...although I did enjoy using there resources..." I really do know how to spell/use 'their'  Idea

Tesoro Toltec 100

Go Up Go Down

Tesoro is a great choice!  I have a Toltec 100 that I have probably had for 25 years.  The mode change button quit working, so I called Tesoro and talked to Rusty Henry, who is their service manager.  He told me to send it in and they would fix it and tune it at no charge.  He never even asked about proof of purchase, which I no longer have.  To make a long story short, I sent it in, they repaired the switch, and the coil failed while they were tuning it.  They replaced it with a new coil, which was a newer design because mine was obsolete.  They also replaced the speaker because they noticed it was not working properly.  Rusty called me back personally to tell me what they had done and that they were getting ready to send it back.  He was very personable and we talked for quite a while.  He also said he was sending me a couple of articles about detecting.  In short, he took care of me like I was an old friend, and I had never had any dealings with them before.  That kind of service does not exist in the world today.  When I got the detector back, I tried it out in my front yard and found a quarter, a nickel, a dime, and four pennies, and I had hunted that area many times before.  It works better than it ever did!  I could not be happier, and I am convinced you cannot go wrong with Tesoro!!

The Toltec 100 way my very fist detector, too. It is a good machine. Tesoro is a good brand if they ever did something about their depth. The Tesoro Lobo has good depth on small items but overall it could be improved. However Tesor has one of the best iron disc in the business.

I own and use both detectors.  For a quick outing or to just carry with you if expecting an opportunity the Silver Umax is fine.  But the ACE 250 is a bit more sophisticated and  would work best for every day use.  I'd go with the ACE 250 for the use you have described.  Onus
