| I have not read that particular book, but it would seem to me that if a beginner had problems with ground balancing a detector, the first line of help would be to read and understand the user manual which came with the machine.

Hobbyist........I totally agree. But in my own case, I was lacking confidence and understanding until I reread pages 20 and 29 of the latest "Zip Zip" book (and pages in between). Also, I received a lot of help from "Hombre" (Randy Albin) over on Find's Treasure Forums, including discussions on the phone, that really helped me overall. He also strongly recommended that I build a Test garden and practice. I'm working on that now.
It gives me joy to help the newcomers to this hobby and that's why I wanted to pass along an information source that helped me, hence this thread.
Thanks for your comments !

You getting off on the wrong foot by call someone out who only asked you some questions. I must agree you are pushing hard a crap book if you have nothing to do with it. The books garbage.

Seldom........It was the accusatory insinuations and overall tone of his comments that offended me.
He didn't need to speak to me that way.....(not courteous, or gentlemanly in fashion.).
How would you describe his comments..........complimentary ?
Oh and BTW, only two of his comments were questions, so 66% of his comments were statements ! (Look for the question marks.)
I think all six of his comments were unnecessarily hurtful ! So I felt I had to defend myself.
