Hello. I have found that it is best to be honest. Let them know that you are kinda new at this, also let them know that you will be carefull to cover your dig sites. I keep a small bag of grass seed just in case. The best thing to do is research where you want to hunt. Know a little of the history to find out if your in over your head ( and it also impresses the land owner a little) Once when I first started out I went to a neighbours and he let me hunt. My md went nuts and I couldn't figure out why. I had beeps every inch and was only pullin old nails, and pieces of tin. I found out later that a tornado had destroyed the first house there in the early 1900's. So research, be polite, be honest, and good luck.

If you cant eat it, drink it, or dig it up, is it really worth it?
