Hi,

I have considered purchasing a Vector Trek PDF 1000 from Treasurenow website, from a company called Fitzgeralds, I am new to treasure hunting so to speak and am not sure about the validity of this product, however the testimonials seem to speak for themselves and the company does seem to be quite confident in their products, can anyone recommend this company or its products or any alternatives? The link is

Don't even  THINK about buying this unit . Better stay with the units that were purchased by a lot of us and have a proven record ,  Cornelius

What are you looking for? Maerial / Depth? You should better go for a good metal detector instead.

Regards,

Christian

[detecting]I think cornelius and christian are right.
I am from Kalgoorlie West Australia the gold mining Capital of the world, renowned and sort after gold worldwide for its
purity and colour.
I have been looking at the Vector Trek 1000. I know enough on electronics and formulas to question this unit, so thanks for
the schematic.
The claims Fitzgerald makes on the countries where it has been used are 3rd world and what really bothers me is the one year warranty,I mean my toaster comes with a one year warranty.
I have written to Fitzgerald to ask them or the manufacturer to send me a unit for free,i will pay for postage,so that I can
use it own my own soil to see if it really is up to scratch. There would no better place to test this unit but here in Kalgoorlie
and then it would come with a high recommendation. I have no response yet from Fitzy or the manufacturer.

As Stated by Cornelius et al,

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY PLEASE!

These kind of units (and ALL other "LRL") are nothing but a complete and utter rip off.
They simply DO NOT work!
Take a look here also:

For that kind of money you can get some awfully good, proper, working kit.

Of course they may offer a "1 year warranty" where they will replace the unit (which in this case looks like less than $50 manufacturing costs)..... just try getting your money back!

Ask a few questions around the forums about the kind of detector you might need for the type of searching you want to do, you will get some good advice!

Hello Chip,

as the others said, the VectorTrek doesn't work. Bob Fitzgeral would never ever send you  free unit for examination / fieldtesting. However he sure would be happy to do a little trade with you .. some thousand $$$ for a VectorTrek Smiley  :Smiley

Best wishes,

Christian

THIS IS NOT A RECOMMENDATION:

I do not know if this is still the policy, but previously Fitzgerald, had a "No Refund" policy.

If you are considering Fitzgerald products, as your choice, here is a link to some Pre-Owned, Fitzgerald  LRL products. Dell

These are the only machines I saw on their web site that might actually work.

PI detector:
The MAXI PULSE 5000 is a very versatile, portable pulse induction locator. - $695.00 , maybe
PI detector:
MAXI PULSE PLUS - $1,395.00 , too much $$
Ground resistivity:
The Mother Load Locator - $2,995.00 , way over priced, you can make your own for under 100$

Everything else on the site is based on dowsing. If it works for you fine, but do not expect the results claimed by the seller until you do field tests, zero money down field tests.

At the risk of incurring the wrath of administrators, and having my posts deleted for expressing contradictory opinions, I'll chance another post.

I can not  question the university degrees of the proclaimed scientific, or electronic experts, posting on this subject. I have only a formal 6th grade country education.

However,  I do question  their record  of any extensive  field testing of Vector Trek, and Fitzgerald  products.

Please allow  me to briefly express my humble opinion, based on my own personal field experience, and comparison tests  with their products?

First off, Vector Trek, products are designed,  and manufactured, by a qualified Electronics tech. They incorporate a Frequency generator, and electronic principles. Any argument as to whether Vector Trek circuits are functional, or generate a Frequency, is between the experts here, and Neil Pagel, at Vector Trek. I am not technically qualified to enter that argument.

I have field tested and used several of Fitzgerald, products, and I have comparison tested, and DB tested two of the Vector Trek models. I found  they do generate a Signal line that can be traced with the Rods.

NOTE: The use of hand held antenna Rods used with Frequency Discriminators, is NOT BASED ON DOWSING. It is based on applied Physics.

So, does Vector Trek, work? In my opinion, YES!  But, the Hand held Rods will only react under the same operating conditions, required for all other LRL products on the market. Most manufacturers do not state this limitation.

Therefore, I question the Fitzgerald, advertising claims used to sell the products. In my personal field use, the products did not live up to the advertising claims.

In my opinion, the prices are ridiculously over inflated to justify the advanced electronic technology claims. I consider the prices to be extreme profiteering, and a  rip-off for consumers

But, what do I know? I'm just a dumb, uneducated Hillbilly, who builds, and uses his own LRL Frequency Discriminators.

Listen to the  experts.   Dell

So Dell you attacked me for calling you a liar . I stated that you built the units you are selling . Now you admitted to that yourself  ( I am just a dumb , uneducated hillbilly , who builds and uses his own LRL  Frequency Discriminators )  So do not ask for an appology anymore please .  For the rest , lets get along .   Cornelius
